This is the only operating mine left in the Cripple Creek, Colorado gold mining district. It employs most of the people living in the area. This operation mines the Cresson Mine, one of the most productive gold mines in the U.S., producing over 60,000 onces of gold from about 1200 feet below the surface. It is located on Highway 67 between Cripple Creek and Victor. |
